HILLSBOROUGH — Beth Colon received the letter in November. She tried to read it but was crying a river of tears before finishing the second sentence. Her sister consoled her and read her the letter.
It was from an anonymous 37-year-old recipient of one of her son’s kidneys. Her son, Jared, is the Hillsborough High teen who died last July after getting hit with a punch to the head during an argument with another Hillsborough teen.
“I am the 37-year-old male kidney recipient of the precious gift from your loved one,” the letter began. “You have my deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one and greatest thanks for a second chance at life.
